The 2009 Miss Universe pageant took place last night, and after navigating her way through various challenges from swimsuits to evening wear to answering that one crucial question, Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez, triumphed to take the crown.

It was the second straight year that Venezuela has won the pageant, and the exchange of crowns from the previous Venezuelan winner was joyously tearful.
